Bedroom Ideas for Baby Adrianna!

Ok so I have been working on re-doing Madalynn's room to fit our second baby girl that is due to arrive on September 25! I am really excited about designing the whole thing! Of course the first thing I did was go online to look for some inspiration to start from. Here is what I found:

I love this fabric for the baby's blanket! This is what I will be using for my main inspiration and to design around!

I am going to make 8 of these and put four above each of the girls beds. I think I will be using the colors pink, yellow, white and silver/grey.

I love this pillow! I would love to make something like this to put on the rocking chair in the girls room.

So cute! And I really need to get a side table lamp for the girls' room for reading bedtime stories!

I love this sign! I think that this will be really easy to do with some letters, frame, and some spray paint from Hobby Lobby or Michael's

I think the baskets are perfect! I hope that Madalynn will be completely potty trained by the time the second baby gets here but I watch my niece during the day so I will still have two different size diapers hanging around.

I like this idea. This will be a great way to store some of the books and toys without taking up a lot of room with a toy box.

I found these online and you can have them personalize for a fairly good price. I would love to have one made for each girl.

This will be great above the changing table to hang the diaper baskets from and to store the lotion and other baby stuff that I want to keep out of Madalynn's hands.

I would love to do some personalized frames like this to go in between the girls' beds

DIY Door Decor

DIY Door Decor

I made this M frame for my daughter's birthday but you can do it with the first initial of your family name or anything else you want to put inside the frame.

Supplies:
1. Old picture frame
2. Spray paint
3. 1/4 - 1/2 yard of fabric
4. liquid stitch
5. Scissors
6. Construction Paper
7. Ribbon
8. Staple gun

Steps:
1. First I found an old frame that I thought would look really nice in white.

2. I removed the back of the picture frame so that I could take the old picture out to stray paint it.

3. I made sure there was nothing hanging off of the frame or any dirt or dust on it to get it ready.

4. I put on one light coat of two-in-one paint and primer spray paint on the frame. I go the spray paint at Wal-mart.

5. To make the inside of the bow holder I bought 1/2 yard of fabric of my choice and some liquid stitch to attach it to the old picture.

6. I cut the fabric so that there was about 2 1/2 to 3 inches on all sides.

7. I put the liquid stitch on the back of the picture to attach the fabric. (This stuff is really easy to use and drys within 30 sec.)

8. I folded in the corners and then attached the rest of the sides with liquid stitch.

9. After I attached the rest of the sides I waited a little bit to make sure it all dried completely.

This is what the front looked like after I was done.

10. Then I took some construction paper and cut out the letter M for my sign. I glued the M onto another piece of construction paper and attached to the fabric covered picture.

11. I put the picture back into the frame and then I attached a piece of ribbon onto the back to the frame to be able to hang it from my wreath hanger.

DIY Gift Bags

DIY Gift Bags

I have been thinking of a way to make the gift bags for my daughter's birthday special and I decided that making my own and personalizing them was a perfect way to do it! You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that is 5'' tall, 4.5'' wide, and 3'' deep.

Supplies
1. Construction paper
2. Ruler
3. Scissors
4. Glue stick
5. Pen or pencil
6. Hole punch (optional)

Steps
1. First take two standard pieces of construction paper and measure out the lengths for the bag. I had to use two pieces of paper and I cut them to the length that I needed to fit the bag. I measured across the first one 1'' - 3'' - and then 4.5''. You will have a little extra left over on that paper but leave it because you will attach the second paper to it. On the second paper I measured across 3'' - 4.5'' and then I cut off the remaining paper that was extra to the right of the 4.5'' section. Next I glued the 3'' section on top of the extra section on the first paper. It should look like one big section of paper like below.

2. Next I measured from the bottom 2'' for the bottom of the bag and 1 in on the top for the top of the bag.
3. Fold along all of the lines and then fold them back out.

4. Put glue on the outside of the 1'' tab and bring the left-most section over to form the body of the bag, aligning the cut edge of the section with the folded edge of the flap.

5. Next you are going to fold the 2'' side to make the bottom of the bag. Fold the short sides inward as if you were wrapping a present. I lay the bag on its side and crease the folds against the table to make nice straight folds.

6. Put glue on both flaps and fold them inward to form the bottom of the bag. Stand the bag upright and press down to help the glue hold. You can cut a piece of construction paper to fit the bottom of the bag and put it inside of the bottom of the bag to help hold and cover up the folds if you want.

7. Stand the bag upright and fold in the 1'' section to make the top of the bag. You can put glue along the inside of the fold to help hold it down. Start folding from one corner and work your way around.

8. You can punch holds in the rim of the bag and string some cord or ribbon through the holds to form handles. You can also add any design to the outside that you like to match your theme.

DIY Bow Holder

I am in the process of redoing my older daughter's room for the anticipated arrival of our second daughter in September and here is one of the items I will be including

DIY Bow Holder

Supplies:
1. Old picture frame
2. Spray paint
3. 1/4 - 1/2 yard of fabric
4. Liquid stitch
5. Ribbon
6. Q-tips
7. Scissors
8. Marker

Steps:
1. First I found an old picture frame at Stuffs ECT. that I thought would look really nice in white to go with the design of my daughter's room. It only cost me $9!
2. I removed the back of the picture frame so that I could take the old picture out to stray paint it.

3. I made sure there was nothing hanging off of the frame or any dirt or dust on it to get it ready.

4. I put on one light coat of two-in-one paint and primer spray paint on the frame. I go the spray paint at Wal-mart for only $3.67!

5. To make the inside of the bow holder I bought 1/2 yard of fabric of my choice and some liquid stitch to attach it to the old picture. The liquid stitch cost $3.37 and the fabric was only $2.77.

10. I then took the ribbon that I choose and cut them to length to fit around the picture.

11. I attached them to the picture with a little liquid stitch on the back of the picture just a few inches away from each other.

12. All that is left to do is put the picture back into the frame and then you are ready to put on all your bows!
